Ahavas Sholom News

  April - May 2004

 In the Rabbi's Mailbox:

             Rabbi Jonathan Rosenberg

Dear Rabbi,
Thank you for your kind letter ... Unfortunately I could not be with you last year ... If Hashem is willing, we will see you this year. I always get a great pleasure seeing the Ahavas Sholom Shul, so many people worked so hard to bring it about. Now under your stewardship it has grown into a thing of splendor. Please keep up the good work.

    Sincerely, Mitch (Cohen)

Dear Rabbi Rosenberg,
Thank you so much for sending your notes for the speech you gave at my grandmother's (Pauline Givets) funeral. Do not worry, they are legible and I am so glad to have them. I think you have a gift for bringing together the personal life with the Jewish holiday ... I could tell you took thought and effort to bring a meaningful talk to us and I took comfort in your words and also because you care. Thank you also for spending the time with my family. All the best to you and your family.

    Kind regards,
    Paula Fayerman

 ZAKA Organization contributors:

On January 24, 2004, Mr. Yaakov Uri visited our Shul to discuss the very sacred work of the ZAKA organization. The goal was to raise money to purchase a motorcycle ($7500 per motorcycle) equipped to serve as an ambulance. The ZAKA workers on motorcylces can navigate the narrow streets quickly and have been able to save many lives by arriving at the scene of suicide bombings, r"l. Thank you to the following individuals. Anyone who travels to Israel will have the nachas of seeing the motorcycle with a dedication from Ahavas Sholom.
