Sisterhood News:
In January we had a gourmet paid-up-membership dinner featuring Chef Donald E. Hauck. He created a wonderful meal and did a cooking demonstration. I know that I went away with some valuable cooking information. We have lots of new members, and our sisterhood membership has grown with leaps and bounds. We hope to have a sisterhood email list soon just to keep everyone informed about our programs.

In an effort to provide a better Kiddush, we started an enhanced Kiddush program. This program gives everyone a chance to add a little something to a sisterhood sponsored Kiddush in honor or memory of a loved one, or to remember an event.

Rebbitzen Temima Feldman has become the featured speaker at our monthly Lunch-and-Learn program. Her thought-provoking topics and Ellen's delicious lunches are a perfect mini getaway from a ho-hum day. If you can slip away for an hour, you will be glad you did. Details about each monthly Lunch-and-Learn will be in the weekly email announcements. This monthly event takes place in the Shul and includes lunch and babysitting. A lunch-and-learn can be sponsored in honor of an event or a person, or in memory of a loved one. For more information, contact Ellen Romanoff at 235-1872.

In the month of February, Ahavas Sholom is partnering with the JCC. Sisterhood will be providing baked goods for the family parenting lecture on February 27. This will be a great program, and I hope everyone has a chance to attend.

Purim is around the corner. Everyone should have received the Purim basket information in the mail, and in a perfect world you would have already sent in the form. If you have not done so, please call Karan Tanenbaum as soon as possible. In answer to many requests, we are offering Purim cards this year. These cards are $2.00 each or three for $5.00. They offer a nice way to remember people on Purim. The Purim basket project is one of sisterhood's largest fund raisers, and we appreciate everyone's participation.
